Furthermore, we believe in maintaining a work-life balance to the point where many of our attorneys are able to fulfill their commitments outside of the office in the midst of maintaining a thriving practice.

Our compensation structure is driven by performance, with no formal caps on bonuses. Recent bonuses for 2018 have been as high as $75,000, with 1,700 billable hours required for bonus eligibility. Base salaries are contingent not only on legal acumen and client service, but also on your tenure with Caplin & Drysdale and your practice-area focus. The firm’s current base compensation for a first-year Associate is $170,000. While we place a premium on attorney compensation, Caplin & Drysdale also offers a highly competitive benefits package, including a generous 401(k) Plan, parental leave (maternity and paternity), and flexible work schedules.

Additionally, we are devoted to advancing the careers of our attorneys through the implementation of a broad range of professional development programs and initiatives, including mentoring programs, continuing legal education, and business development training. As such, attorneys may qualify for financial assistance in obtaining advanced legal degrees, including an LL.M. in Taxation, while working at Caplin. Our boutique practice also allows new attorneys to work on high-profile matters early on in their careers, while receiving regular supervision and guidance. Moreover, Caplin & Drysdale makes significant investments in technology, staffing, and other resources to ensure our attorneys have the proper support and resources to improve their work-life balance.
