"The timetable is incredibly rigid," Scott D. Michel of Caplin & Drysdale in Washington said during the Nov. 7 session.

Michel also said that the document response deadlines may prove too short to allow for a thorough review to ensure attorney-client privilege isn't waived, although he said a judge would be unlikely to force a taxpayer to turn over documents that are still undergoing a privilege review.
